Getting Started with K40 Whisperer

If you're looking to get started with K40 Whisperer, you'll first need to locate the Inkscape executable file. K40 Whisperer looks in the most likely places for this file by default, but if it can't find it, you can use the 'Find Inkscape' button in the 'General Settings' section to specify the location of the file yourself.

If you don't already have Inkscape installed, be sure to install the latest version. Additionally, you'll need to install the libUSB driver, which is necessary for K40 Whisperer to communicate with your K40 controller board.

Once you've got everything set up, you can create Windows executables using py2exe. However, note that this program has a dependency on the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86) or the Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x64), depending on your version of Windows.

To get started with K40 Whisperer, simply double-click on the k40_whisperer.exe file. The main window should open, allowing you to interact with the program.

For those using 64-bit versions of Windows, be sure to download and unzip the latest windows executable zip file from here: K40 Whisperer Download. For 32-bit versions of Windows, use the corresponding zip file.

If you're using Linux or Mac, you'll need to perform additional work in order to successfully install K40 Whisperer. However, these dependencies are resolved on Windows by packaging them in the pre-compiled executable version of K40 Whisperer.

K40 Whisperer is written in Python, making it possible to run on Windows, Linux, and Mac platforms. However, you will need to install a USB driver in order for the program to communicate with your K40 controller board.
